Bodydoubling platform

Our current bodydoubling platform is Discord. Discord is a mess (to be polite) so I figured we could brainstorm some alternatives.
My first thought is something like Jitsi or BigBlueButton, but I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks.

I am honestly up to try all sorts of whatever; less discord is great, but I haven't had space to figure out alternatives yet

We've used both in a professional context and they both have the issue all discord alternatives have: their noise suppression is much worse. The connectivity is a thing, but compared to the noise suppression it's not that much of an issue. You can achieve something very close to it with an ffmpeg pipeline (using
bd.rnn from here), but not one that I've found that you could put in a pipe (for example on the server side for incoming client audio). If noise suppression wasn't an issue *at all*, for voice mumble works real well. For video Jitsi can be okay as long as you have fewer than ten people or so, but cross-continent stuff is a little complex.

When using Discord we've typically had everyone muted, so if we doing keep that then noise suppression shouldn't be an issue.

Found a new possibility, Jami.
Jami is a GNU package, so it's completely FOSS and it looks to be distributed, so no central server. I'll test it out and report back here.

So it technically works, but the bad video quality makes it not suitable for our use. On to the next thing.

I'll look at it if I don't forget tomorrow, maybe there is some way to host a (private) relay node to make more bandwidth available (and maybe have less hops and packet drops) and get the video to an okay place.

Oh, that could be a good solution!

@canteen did you end up finding anything out on that idea?
